updates on a life
Thanksgiving was spent with my family. I made an 11 lb bird, some cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, stuffing. It took us quite a while to go through the leftovers, but only the bird partly remains. I think we ate through the ~good meat~ and I'm not quite ready to toss the rest.
We're planning a trip to Puerto Rico this upcoming January, and it'll be both an endcap for 2024 and a penultimate start to '25. I'm looking forward to thinking very little about many things outside the purview of how the water sounds crashing into the beach and what's next on the menu for dinner tonight. It's going to be a very good pause to winter, too -- right in the thick of it, we head south like birds who never got the memo you ought to leave before the leaves fall.
I'm contemplating my faith a lot these days. I feel the pull of the Church and its framework intended to draw you closer toward the divine. I don't think I have the time for it all, but I want to explore the metaphysics of it all. Maybe it's also the draw of exploring something unfamiliar, the fact that I've strained to find a creative outlet (or focusing lens) for this stage of my life.
I don't have much else to include in an update on my life. I finished one project, the little social site for my town that never did get a push in the right trajectory, and now I'm grabbing for whatever is next.
